It’s all very well having a brand new website, but if you don’t know how to update and add new content, then you will need to go back to your web designer each and every time you want a change made. One of the compelling reasons to use a CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress is that it enables the client to update their website themselves. They don’t need to have a beard and wear sandals (web developer stereotype) or know their curly brackets from their semi-colons. However, there is a catch. Even though CMS’s such as WordPress have become easier to use in recent years, it can still be intimidating for people new to the system to understand just how easy it is to make changes.
We want our clients to understand just how easy it is to make changes
In the past, we have created documentation to help the client understand how to make changes to their site and act as a point of reference. However, we now believe there is a better way. When we complete a website project, we create a video that goes through the key aspects of the clients fantastic new website, showing them how to make changes step by step. We think this is the next best thing to actually sitting next to them and talking them through it. The video on this page gives a small taster for how this works.
To keep things secure, we host the videos on the screencast service so no one other than our client will see the admin side of their website. Our clients can also download the video and keep it on their own system for easy referencing at a later date.
We won’t leave you to fend for yourself once your new website has gone live, instead we want to do all we can to enable you to get the most from your website. If you ever get stuck, or want us to carry out updates to your site on your behalf, then we are only a phone call or an email away!
So, don’t let the thought of having a new system to learn put you off updating your website.
